AVANT EU project meeting

In September, Francesc Molist and Anouschka Middelkoop attended the annual Alternatives to Veterinary ANTimicrobials (AVANT) EU project meeting, which this year was held in Montenegro. In this project, we are investigating strategies to reduce weaning diarrhoea in piglets.

Our feeding strategy with fibre - one of the 3 strategies alongside faecal microbiota transplantation and synbiotics - is through to the next round! This means that the feeding strategy will be tested on a larger scale in its effect on reducing weaning diarrhoea and reducing antibiotic use. We continue with the AVANT project, on to more great results!
