An accurate database: essential for efficient feeding

Publication date: 28-09-2017

On 6 September All About Feed organised a webinar on improving feed efficiency. The first speaker at this webinar was Piet van der Aar. The title of his presentation was: "An accurate database: essential for efficient feeding".

In order to obtain a high feed efficiency, it is essential to differentiate in feed evaluation systems for different animal categories, as well as for different production goals in livestock. Schothorst Feed Research has developed energy evaluation system for the different monogastric animal categories over the years, which result in improved feed efficiencies and reduced feed costs. In this webinar, Piet van der Aar will explain the different existing energy systems for pigs and will delve further in the best way of evaluating different feedstuffs. The complete webinar can be watched here.
