Feeds and Nutrition (1-5 day course)

The Feeds and Nutrition course is a yearly recurring event. It is designed to quickly inform the participants about the main theoretical and practical aspects of everything involved in feed production. The course is set up in different modules so that, depending on the interest of the participant, a custom program can be made. All modules are offered over the course of one week.

Learning objective

To briefly inform participants about theoretical and practical aspects of feed formulating, production and quality control for different species.

For whom?

The course is a must attend for nutritionists, purchasing managers, quality assurance managers, feed mill managers and others involved in the feed or allied industry. The course covers theoretical and practical aspects of feed formulation, production and quality control for different species.

Course design and set up

The course is set up in different modules so that, depending on the interest of the participant, a custom made program can be composed. All modules are offered over the course of one week and are repeated yearly. This way participants can take one or several modules in one week and additional modules the next year. The course will be given in English. The detailed program will be presented later.

Date and location

The course will be given from 3 to 7 June 2019 at Inntel Hotels Zaandam (close to Amsterdam). About 20 minutes from Schiphol airport.

Module 1 Feedstuffs, cereals, cereal by-products and industrial by-products 
Module 2 Feedstuffs, by-products of fat oil extraction, legumes, animal by-products and fats and oils  
Module 3 Feed processing and manufacturing
Module 4 Quality, GMP+ and Hazard analysis and risk assessment in the feed sector 
Module 5 Mycotoxins in feeds
Module 6 Intestinal health poultry 
Module 7 Principles of monogastric nutrition
Module 8 Advanced poultry nutrition, feed evaluation 
Module 9 Applied poultry nutrition, including excursions 
Module 10 Practical feed formulation poultry 
Module 11 Advanced swine nutrition 
Module 12 Applied swine nutrition, including excursions
Module 13 Practical feed formulation swine 
Module 14 Principles of dairy nutrition 
Module 15 Advanced dairy nutrition 
Module 16 Applied dairy nutrition, including excursions
Module 17 Practical ration formulation dairy
